In-cluster consumers can use `http://llm-connect.activity-core.svc.cluster.local:8080`.
The service owns credentials and provider routing. `--model` names a service runtime

The bench uses llm-connect's `RunConfig` and `/execute` contract. It makes no direct
provider requests and has no client retries. Sources and drafts reach the service's

The service may apply profile settings. Actual model, usage, finish reason and
selected routing metadata are retained in receipts and artifact provenance; cost
remains unknown unless independently measured. Empty or incomplete responses stop
the workflow and retain diagnostic metadata. Successful runs remain unreviewed.

# Bounded primary-source packet
## Editorial scope (not source text)
This is a bounded excerpt for testing authority placement and immediate feedback.
Only the two quotations below are original source text. The full article, code,
framework comparisons and implementation claims are omitted. Do not infer that
these excerpts establish recurrence or validate a universal architecture.
## Passage A — Core Responsibilities / 2. Content (server), paragraph 1, sentence 2
> The server is the authoritative source.
## Passage B — Core Responsibilities / 3. Affordances (client), paragraph 1, final sentence
> We need to provide our user feedback faster than a round-trip to the server.
## Investigation question (editorial)
Can data authority and interaction feedback be represented independently? Which
additional evidence would be needed to apply this decomposition to local-first data?
## Excerpt boundary
Check claims against the linked original and these exact section/sentence locators.
Do not treat absence of offline behavior in this packet as evidence against it.

# Client-Side Interaction Feedback
## Definition
A pattern where immediate user feedback for certain interactions is provided directly by the client, without requiring a full round-trip to the server. This is done to ensure a responsive user experience, especially when server communication would introduce noticeable latency.
## Candidate Identity
* **ID:** P01
* **Family:** Responsiveness Patterns
* **Scale:** Component/Interaction
* **Status:** Draft
* **Maturity:** Hypothesis
* **Evidence Kind:** Primary
## Context
A client-server architecture where user interactions occur on the client, and a server is responsible for maintaining the authoritative state of data. Network latency between the client and server can be significant, impacting the perceived responsiveness of the application.
## Problem
Users expect immediate feedback for their actions. If every interaction requires a round-trip to a remote server, the application will feel slow and unresponsive, leading to a poor user experience.
## Forces
* **User Expectation for Immediacy (Pro-Client Feedback):** Users desire instant visual or haptic confirmation that their action has been registered, even if the underlying data change is still being processed. (C02)
* **Server as Authoritative Source (Con-Client Feedback for Data Changes):** The server is the definitive source of truth for data. Relying solely on client-side feedback for data-modifying operations without server confirmation can lead to inconsistencies or incorrect state if the server rejects the operation. (C01)
* **Network Latency (Pro-Client Feedback):** The time taken for a request to travel to the server and a response to return can be substantial, directly hindering responsiveness if every interaction waits for it. (C02)
* **Complexity of Client-Side State Management (Con-Client Feedback):** Providing immediate client-side feedback often requires the client to manage a temporary or speculative state, which adds complexity to the client-side application logic and can introduce synchronization challenges.
## Solution
The client-side application is designed to provide immediate visual or functional feedback for user interactions that do not strictly require server validation or a full data update to be perceived as complete by the user. This feedback is rendered instantly, bypassing the network round-trip.
## Dynamics
1. A user initiates an action on the client (e.g., clicking a button, typing into an input field).
2. The client-side application immediately updates its local UI to reflect the perceived outcome of the action (e.g., a button changes state, a loading spinner appears, text appears in an input).
3. Concurrently or subsequently, the client sends a request to the server to perform the actual authoritative operation or data update.
4. The user experiences immediate feedback, enhancing the perception of responsiveness.
5. Upon receiving a response from the server, the client updates its UI to reflect the authoritative state, potentially correcting any speculative client-side feedback if the server operation failed or returned a different result.
## Resulting Context
The user perceives the application as highly responsive due to immediate feedback. The server remains the authoritative source for data, ensuring data integrity.
## Consequences
* **Positive:** Improved user experience, reduced perceived latency, increased user satisfaction.
* **Negative:** Increased client-side complexity due to managing speculative or temporary states. Potential for temporary UI inconsistencies if server response differs from client's immediate feedback. Requires careful design to handle server-side failures or rejections gracefully.
## Failure Modes
* **Inconsistent State:** If the client provides immediate feedback that is later contradicted by the server's authoritative response, and this contradiction is not handled gracefully, the user might be confused or experience data loss.
* **Over-optimism:** If the client assumes success for complex operations that frequently fail on the server, the user will repeatedly see "success" feedback followed by "failure" correction, leading to frustration.
* **Lack of User Awareness:** If the immediate feedback doesn't clearly indicate that the action is still pending server confirmation, users might assume the action is fully complete when it is not.
## Source Evidence
* **C02:** "User feedback must be delivered more quickly than the time it takes for a full request-response cycle to the server." (Passage B)
* **C01:** "The server is the authoritative source." (Passage A) - This claim highlights the tension that P01 addresses; while the server is authoritative, the client still needs to provide immediate feedback.
## Counterevidence
None found within the provided bounded excerpt.
## Review Notes
This pattern directly addresses the tension between the server's authority (C01) and the need for immediate user feedback (C02). It proposes a client-side mechanism to bridge this gap. The pattern's effectiveness relies heavily on how well the client manages its temporary state and reconciles it with the eventual authoritative server response.
## Known Uses
* **Typing in a chat application:** Your message appears instantly in your chat window, even before it's sent to the server and delivered to other participants.
* **Liking a post on social media:** The "like" count or icon updates immediately on your screen, while the actual update is sent to the server in the background.
* **Toggling a checkbox in a settings panel:** The checkbox state changes instantly, and the setting is saved to the server asynchronously.
* **Form validation:** Immediate feedback on input validity (e.g., "email format invalid") happens client-side before submission.
## Recurrence
This pattern is widely observed across modern web and mobile applications where responsiveness is critical. It is a fundamental technique for improving user experience in client-server interactions. The recurrence is strongly supported by common practice, even if not explicitly detailed in the provided source.

## Claim Table: The Grand Unifying Architecture of Frontend
| Local Label | Source Locator | Paraphrase | Assumptions | Interpretation |
| :---------- | :------------- | :--------- | :---------- | :------------- |
| C01 | Passage A | The server acts as the definitive and authoritative source for data. | This claim assumes a client-server architecture where a "server" entity exists and holds primary data responsibility. | This is a foundational statement about data authority in a client-server context. It doesn't specify *what kind* of data, but implies all data for which the server is responsible. |
| C02 | Passage B | User feedback must be delivered more quickly than the time it takes for a full request-response cycle to the server. | This claim assumes that "user feedback" is distinct from the primary data served by the server (C01) and that a "round-trip to the server" has a measurable and potentially undesirable latency. It also assumes that users expect immediate feedback for certain interactions. | This highlights a performance requirement for user experience, suggesting that some interactions should not be blocked by server communication. This implies a need for client-side processing or immediate UI updates. |
---
### Counterevidence:
* None found within the provided bounded excerpt.
### Unknowns:
* The specific types of "content" for which the server is authoritative (C01).
* The nature of "user feedback" that requires faster delivery than a server round-trip (C02).
* The mechanisms or technologies proposed to achieve faster user feedback (C02).
* Whether the server's authority (C01) applies to all data or only a subset.
* The scope of "frontend" in the title and how these claims fit into a "grand unifying architecture."
### Claims Needing Another Source:
* **C01 (Generalization):** To establish if the server is *always* the authoritative source in all frontend architectures, especially in scenarios like local-first data or peer-to-peer systems.
* **C02 (Generalization):** To understand the specific types of user interactions that necessitate immediate feedback and the common strategies employed to achieve this across different frontend applications.
* **Relationship between C01 and C02:** The excerpt implies a distinction, but further evidence would be needed to fully understand how data authority (C01) and interaction feedback (C02) are decomposed and managed in a unified architecture.
### Concrete Implementation vs. Proposed Generalization:
* **C01:** This claim is presented as a general principle ("The server is the authoritative source.") rather than a description of a specific implementation.
* **C02:** This claim is also a general principle or requirement ("We need to provide our user feedback faster..."), not a description of how a particular system achieves this.
### Investigation Question (Editorial) - Response:
* **Can data authority and interaction feedback be represented independently?**
* Based on C01 and C02, the source *implies* they can be represented independently. C01 establishes the server's role for "content" (authority), while C02 identifies a separate requirement for "user feedback" (interaction speed) that bypasses the server round-trip. The distinction in their respective requirements (authority vs. speed) suggests independent representation.
* **Which additional evidence would be needed to apply this decomposition to local-first data?**
* **Definition of "authority" in a local-first context:** How is the "authoritative source" (C01) defined when the primary data store is local? Is there a "server" equivalent, or does authority shift?
* **Conflict resolution mechanisms:** If local data can be modified, how are conflicts resolved when synchronizing with a remote source (if one exists)? This relates to the "authoritative source" concept.
* **Offline data consistency:** How is data consistency maintained when the client is offline and the "authoritative source" (server) is unreachable?
* **Client-side data models:** How are local-first data models designed to support both authoritative data and immediate user feedback without constant server interaction?
* **Synchronization strategies:** What mechanisms are used to synchronize local changes with a remote "authoritative" source, and how do these impact user feedback?
* **The role of the "server" in local-first:** Does a server still exist, and if so, what is its redefined role regarding authority and synchronization?

## Critique of Claims and Candidate Bundle
This review assesses the provided claims (C01, C02) and the candidate bundle (P01) against the original evidence and the stated investigation questions.
### Claims Assessment
**C01: The server acts as the definitive and authoritative source for data.**
* **Artifact:** C01
* **Source Locator:** Passage A
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** This is a faithful paraphrase of "The server is the authoritative source." The interpretation correctly identifies it as foundational.
* **Competing Forces:** This claim establishes a fundamental constraint that P01 must work within, rather than directly competing with it.
* **Recurrence:** The concept of a server as an authoritative source is a cornerstone of many distributed systems.
* **Failure Modes:** Misunderstanding or misapplying this authority can lead to data inconsistencies or security vulnerabilities.
* **Relation Justification:** The relation `P01 requires C01` is plausible, as P01's complexity arises from needing to reconcile client-side feedback with server authority.
**C02: User feedback must be delivered more quickly than the time it takes for a full request-response cycle to the server.**
* **Artifact:** C02
* **Source Locator:** Passage B
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** This is a faithful paraphrase of "We need to provide our user feedback faster than a round-trip to the server." The interpretation correctly highlights a performance requirement.
* **Competing Forces:** This claim directly drives the need for patterns like P01, competing with the latency inherent in server round-trips.
* **Recurrence:** The need for fast user feedback is universal in UI/UX design.
* **Failure Modes:** Failure to provide timely feedback leads to poor user experience and perceived slowness.
* **Relation Justification:** The relation `P01 requires C02` is strong, as P01 is a direct solution to the problem C02 identifies.
### Investigation Question (Editorial) - Assessment
**Can data authority and interaction feedback be represented independently?**
* **Assessment:** Pass (for the scope of this evidence)
* **Justification:** The source *does* present them independently. C01 defines authority, C02 defines a performance requirement for feedback. The claims themselves are distinct. The bundle P01 then shows how these independent concepts interact.
* **Missing Evidence:** The source doesn't explicitly state they *can* be represented independently, but by presenting them as separate sentences with distinct concerns, it implies it.
**Which additional evidence would be needed to apply this decomposition to local-first data?**
* **Assessment:** Pass (the identified evidence needs are appropriate)
* **Justification:** The list of evidence needed (definition of authority in local-first, conflict resolution, offline consistency, client-side models, synchronization, redefined server role) is comprehensive and directly addresses the challenges of applying these concepts to a local-first paradigm where the "server" and "authoritative source" roles are significantly altered or distributed.
### Candidate Bundle (P01: Client-Side Interaction Feedback) Assessment
**Traceability:**
* **Artifact:** P01
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The bundle clearly traces back to C01 and C02 in its "Context," "Problem," "Forces," "Solution," and "Source Evidence" sections. The "Forces" section explicitly uses C01 and C02.
**Faithful Paraphrase:**
* **Artifact:** P01
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The bundle doesn't paraphrase the original source directly but rather builds upon the concepts introduced by C01 and C02. It accurately reflects the tension and solution implied by the two claims.
**Competing Forces:**
* **Artifact:** P01.Forces
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The "Forces" section effectively captures the tension between "User Expectation for Immediacy" (driven by C02) and "Server as Authoritative Source" (C01), along with "Network Latency" and "Complexity of Client-Side State Management." This is a strong point of the bundle.
**Recurrence:**
* **Artifact:** P01.Recurrence
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The statement "This pattern is widely observed across modern web and mobile applications..." is well-supported by the "Known Uses" examples. While the original source doesn't explicitly state recurrence, the pattern itself is a common industry practice, making this a reasonable inference for the bundle.
**Failure Modes:**
* **Artifact:** P01.Failure Modes
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The identified failure modes (Inconsistent State, Over-optimism, Lack of User Awareness) are highly relevant and accurately describe common pitfalls of implementing client-side feedback.
**Relation Justification:**
* **Artifact:** Relation proposals for P01
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** Both proposed relations (`P01 requires C01` and `P01 requires C02`) are well-justified.
* `P01 requires C01`: P01's complexity and design are fundamentally shaped by the need to eventually reconcile with the server's authority. If C01 were not true, P01 would be a much simpler pattern (or unnecessary).
* `P01 requires C02`: P01 is a direct response to the problem C02 identifies. Without the need for faster feedback, P01 would not exist.
* **Observation vs. Hypothesis:** Labeling these as "hypothesis" is appropriate given the limited source text, but they are strong hypotheses.
* **Counterexamples:** The provided counterexamples are logical and reinforce the necessity of the claims for the pattern.
**Missing Evidence:**
* **Artifact:** P01
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** The bundle itself doesn't explicitly list missing evidence, but the "Unknowns" section in the claims critique and the "additional evidence" for local-first data are relevant here. The bundle is well-formed given the *provided* evidence.
**Applicability to VC-01 (server-authoritative transactional administration):**
* **Assessment:** Pass
* **Justification:** P01 is highly applicable. In transactional administration, the server *must* be authoritative (VC-01's core). However, users still need immediate feedback for actions like form submissions, status changes, or data entry. P01 allows for a responsive UI while ensuring the server ultimately controls the transaction outcome. For example, a user clicks "Approve" on a request; the UI immediately shows "Pending Approval" or a spinner, while the server processes the actual approval.
**Applicability to VC-02 (offline field notes):**
* **Assessment:** Revise (requires more nuance)
* **Justification:** While the *concept* of immediate feedback is applicable, the *dynamics* of P01 as described (client sends request to server, server responds, client updates) are less directly applicable to a purely offline scenario.
* **Unsupported assertion:** The "Solution" and "Dynamics" sections of P01 heavily imply an *eventual* server interaction. For VC-02, the "authoritative source" (C01) might initially be the local device, and the "round-trip to the server" (C02) might not happen for a long time, or at all for some data.
* **Conflated prerequisites:** P01 assumes a continuous or eventual connection to an authoritative server. In VC-02, the primary authoritative source might be local for extended periods.
* **Missing evidence:** The bundle would need to explicitly address how "server as authoritative source" (C01) is reinterpreted or handled in an offline-first context, and how "user feedback faster than a round-trip" (C02) applies when there *is no* round-trip for a long time. The "Dynamics" would need to include local persistence and eventual synchronization, rather than immediate server requests.
### Proposed Disposition
**Revise**
**Evidence needed before admission:**
1. **Refinement for Offline/Local-First Context (VC-02):**
* **Clarify "Authoritative Source" in Offline:** How does C01 (server as authoritative source) manifest or get reinterpreted when the client is offline for extended periods, as in VC-02? Is the local device temporarily authoritative?
* **Adapt P01 Dynamics for Offline:** Modify the "Dynamics" section of P01 to explicitly include local persistence, eventual synchronization, and conflict resolution mechanisms relevant to offline-first scenarios. The current dynamics ("client sends a request to the server") are too synchronous for VC-02.
* **Address "Round-trip" in Offline:** How does C02 (faster feedback than round-trip) apply when the round-trip might be hours or days away? The feedback is still immediate, but the reconciliation with the "authoritative source" is delayed.
* **New "Forces" for Offline:** Add forces related to data consistency, conflict resolution, and local storage management in an offline context.
* **New "Failure Modes" for Offline:** Add failure modes specific to offline-first, such as synchronization failures, data loss during sync, or unresolvable conflicts.
2. **Broader Scope of "Frontend":** The original source title is "The Grand Unifying Architecture of Frontend." While the claims are foundational, the current bundle focuses narrowly on client-server interaction. Future evidence might explore how these principles extend to other "frontend" concerns (e.g., build systems, rendering strategies, state management paradigms) to better align with the "grand unifying" aspect. (This is a lower priority for *this* specific review, but relevant for the overall project).

\ Interaction Feedback\n\n## Definition\n\nA pattern where immediate user feedback\
\ for certain interactions is provided directly by the client, without requiring\
\ a full round-trip to the server. This is done to ensure a responsive user experience,\
\ especially when server communication would introduce noticeable latency.\n\n\
## Candidate Identity\n\n* **ID:** P01\n* **Family:** Responsiveness Patterns\n\
* **Scale:** Component/Interaction\n* **Status:** Draft\n* **Maturity:**\
\ Hypothesis\n* **Evidence Kind:** Primary\n\n## Context\n\nA client-server\
\ architecture where user interactions occur on the client, and a server is responsible\
\ for maintaining the authoritative state of data. Network latency between the\
\ client and server can be significant, impacting the perceived responsiveness\
\ of the application.\n\n## Problem\n\nUsers expect immediate feedback for their\
\ actions. If every interaction requires a round-trip to a remote server, the\
\ application will feel slow and unresponsive, leading to a poor user experience.\n\
\n## Forces\n\n* **User Expectation for Immediacy (Pro-Client Feedback):** Users\
\ desire instant visual or haptic confirmation that their action has been registered,\
\ even if the underlying data change is still being processed. (C02)\n* **Server\
\ as Authoritative Source (Con-Client Feedback for Data Changes):** The server\
\ is the definitive source of truth for data. Relying solely on client-side feedback\
\ for data-modifying operations without server confirmation can lead to inconsistencies\
\ or incorrect state if the server rejects the operation. (C01)\n* **Network\
\ Latency (Pro-Client Feedback):** The time taken for a request to travel to the\
\ server and a response to return can be substantial, directly hindering responsiveness\
\ if every interaction waits for it. (C02)\n* **Complexity of Client-Side State\
\ Management (Con-Client Feedback):** Providing immediate client-side feedback\
\ often requires the client to manage a temporary or speculative state, which\
\ adds complexity to the client-side application logic and can introduce synchronization\
\ challenges.\n\n## Solution\n\nThe client-side application is designed to provide\
\ immediate visual or functional feedback for user interactions that do not strictly\
\ require server validation or a full data update to be perceived as complete\
\ by the user. This feedback is rendered instantly, bypassing the network round-trip.\n\
\n## Dynamics\n\n1. A user initiates an action on the client (e.g., clicking\
\ a button, typing into an input field).\n2. The client-side application immediately\
\ updates its local UI to reflect the perceived outcome of the action (e.g., a\
\ button changes state, a loading spinner appears, text appears in an input).\n\
3. Concurrently or subsequently, the client sends a request to the server to\
\ perform the actual authoritative operation or data update.\n4. The user experiences\
\ immediate feedback, enhancing the perception of responsiveness.\n5. Upon receiving\
\ a response from the server, the client updates its UI to reflect the authoritative\
\ state, potentially correcting any speculative client-side feedback if the server\
\ operation failed or returned a different result.\n\n## Resulting Context\n\n\
The user perceives the application as highly responsive due to immediate feedback.\
\ The server remains the authoritative source for data, ensuring data integrity.\n\
\n## Consequences\n\n* **Positive:** Improved user experience, reduced perceived\
\ latency, increased user satisfaction.\n* **Negative:** Increased client-side\
\ complexity due to managing speculative or temporary states. Potential for temporary\
\ UI inconsistencies if server response differs from client's immediate feedback.\
\ Requires careful design to handle server-side failures or rejections gracefully.\n\
\n## Failure Modes\n\n* **Inconsistent State:** If the client provides immediate\
\ feedback that is later contradicted by the server's authoritative response,\
\ and this contradiction is not handled gracefully, the user might be confused\
\ or experience data loss.\n* **Over-optimism:** If the client assumes success\
\ for complex operations that frequently fail on the server, the user will repeatedly\
\ see \"success\" feedback followed by \"failure\" correction, leading to frustration.\n\
* **Lack of User Awareness:** If the immediate feedback doesn't clearly indicate\
\ that the action is still pending server confirmation, users might assume the\
\ action is fully complete when it is not.\n\n## Source Evidence\n\n* **C02:**\
\ \"User feedback must be delivered more quickly than the time it takes for a\
\ full request-response cycle to the server.\" (Passage B)\n* **C01:** \"The\
\ server is the authoritative source.\" (Passage A) - This claim highlights the\
\ tension that P01 addresses; while the server is authoritative, the client still\
\ needs to provide immediate feedback.\n\n## Counterevidence\n\nNone found within\
\ the provided bounded excerpt.\n\n## Review Notes\n\nThis pattern directly addresses\
\ the tension between the server's authority (C01) and the need for immediate\
\ user feedback (C02). It proposes a client-side mechanism to bridge this gap.\
\ The pattern's effectiveness relies heavily on how well the client manages its\
\ temporary state and reconciles it with the eventual authoritative server response.\n\
\n## Known Uses\n\n* **Typing in a chat application:** Your message appears\
\ instantly in your chat window, even before it's sent to the server and delivered\
\ to other participants.\n* **Liking a post on social media:** The \"like\"\
\ count or icon updates immediately on your screen, while the actual update is\
\ sent to the server in the background.\n* **Toggling a checkbox in a settings\
\ panel:** The checkbox state changes instantly, and the setting is saved to the\
\ server asynchronously.\n* **Form validation:** Immediate feedback on input\
\ validity (e.g., \"email format invalid\") happens client-side before submission.\n\
\n## Recurrence\n\nThis pattern is widely observed across modern web and mobile\
\ applications where responsiveness is critical. It is a fundamental technique\
\ for improving user experience in client-server interactions. The recurrence\
\ is strongly supported by common practice, even if not explicitly detailed in\
\ the provided source.\n"

\ is strongly supported by common practice, even if not explicitly detailed in\
\ the provided source.\n\n## Relation proposals\n\n```json\n[\n {\n \"subject_candidate_id\"\
: \"P01\",\n \"relation\": \"requires\",\n \"object_candidate_id\": \"C01\"\
,\n \"rationale\": \"The 'Client-Side Interaction Feedback' pattern (P01) explicitly\
\ acknowledges and operates within a context where 'The server is the authoritative\
\ source' (C01). The pattern's 'Forces' section highlights this as a constraint\
\ ('Server as Authoritative Source (Con-Client Feedback for Data Changes)') that\
\ it must reconcile with the need for immediate feedback.\",\n \"source_claim_and_locator\"\
: \"C01: Passage A\",\n \"observation_versus_hypothesis\": \"hypothesis\",\n\

# Bounded primary-source packet
## Editorial scope (not source text)
This packet isolates authority placement. Only the quotation is original source
text. It is a contiguous fragment of the final sentence in the located paragraph;
the beginning of that sentence is omitted. The rest of the essay, its prototypes,
replication algorithms and product comparisons are outside this packet.
## Passage A — Seven ideals for local-first software, paragraph 3, final sentence fragment
> we treat the copy of the data on your local device — your laptop, tablet, or phone — as the primary copy.
## Investigation question (editorial)
What distinguishes a primary local copy from a subordinate cache? What additional
sources or passages are needed to establish persistence, concurrency and recovery?
## Excerpt boundary
Do not infer that this fragment defines merge semantics or makes every copy an
unrestricted writer. Its parent essay's domain and exceptions need separate review.

# llm-connect authority pilot
Date: 2026-09-24. Reviewer: codex; initial editorial review, not independent validation.
## Execution
Per user direction, live execution now calls the deployed llm-connect `/execute`
service. No provider key was retrieved. A temporary Kubernetes port-forward exposed
`activity-core/llm-connect` locally; no deployment was changed. Requested profile:
`custodian-triage-balanced`; resolved provider/model: OpenRouter / Gemini 2.5 Flash.
Credentials and routing remain service-owned. Client retries are disabled; internal
service retry count and dollar cost are unknown.
Receipts under `research/bench/infospaces/` record source/prompt/config digests,
requested settings, actual model, usage and finish reason:
- `carniato-authority-02`: one response, `length`, 4,470 total tokens. Rejected.
- `carniato-authority-03`: four responses, all `stop`, 12,638 total tokens. Workflow completed.
- `local-first-authority-02`: one response, `length`, 12,489 total tokens. Rejected.
Total reported usage across these six service requests: 29,597 tokens, including
failed attempts. These totals do not measure dollar cost. The `-01` failed direct
provider runs remain intact. No successful local-first generated artifact exists.
Generated output remains unreviewed in the bench; this editorial disposition does
not rewrite the original run or convert assisted critique into independent review.

[relations](../bench/infospaces/carniato-authority-03/artifacts/generated/relation-proposals.md),
[assisted critique](../bench/infospaces/carniato-authority-03/output/evaluations/source-review.md).
Disposition: **revise candidate; reject proposed graph relations; admit nothing**.
- Workspace P01 maps provisionally to the existing Immediate Feedback candidate.
Its family and scale labels do not satisfy the repository vocabulary contract.
- The candidate's chat, social, checkbox and form examples have no independently
located implementations. They are illustrative hypotheses, not known-use evidence.
Its recurrence assertion is unsupported by this bounded source packet.
- The proposed `requires` edges target C01/C02 claim IDs as if they were candidate
IDs. These are evidence references, not valid pattern relation targets.
- Server authority is contextual in this source. A mandatory server-authority
prerequisite for immediate feedback is not established, and conflicts with the
local-first comparison hypothesis in the earlier manual review.
- The assisted critique approved recurrence and both relation justifications.
This is a concrete false-positive example for our admission process: automated
self-review cannot supply missing evidence or validate graph identity.
The two narrowly sourced claims are useful starting points, but the larger dynamics,
failure modes and examples extend beyond the excerpt and need separate evidence.
No FEP identities, canonical pattern files or graph edges were added.
## Follow-up owned by FEP-WP-0002-T02
Before another local-first run, select explicit research-appropriate execution
settings and diagnose repeated truncation within a bounded call/token plan; simply
raising the cap again is not justified by these results. Refine prompts to prohibit
invented known uses, distinguish claims from pattern identities, and require
unsupported recurrence to remain unknown. Verify those rules on this captured
failure before the next live run. T03 still owns cross-source case walkthroughs.

T02 remains progress: broader evidence and independent known uses are still needed.
Live reruns specifically depend on an authorized working credential; manual research
can continue. No failure of the research hypothesis is inferred from provider failure.
## llm-connect execution — 2026-09-24
User clarified that live execution must use llm-connect. Replaced direct OpenRouter
execution with the llm-connect service contract; no workstation credential required.
Service model/usage/finish reason and safe failure receipts are retained. Carniato
`-03` completed four stages; Carniato `-02` and local-first `-02` were truncated and
rejected. Review: `research/reviews/LLMConnectPilot.md`. No proposal admitted.
T02 remains progress and owns the next bounded steps: resolve local-first truncation
with explicit research settings; tighten prompts and checks around unsourced known
uses, recurrence and claim-vs-pattern relation targets; continue source evidence.
These replace the earlier workstation-credential dependency. T03 remains todo.
