Technologies are mapped to the patterns they can implement.

Technology files are descriptive, not normative.

A mapping may contain:

- implemented patterns,
- optional patterns,
- constraints,
- characteristic defaults,
- architectural assumptions,
- counterexamples,
- source references.

A technology must not become part of the core ontology merely because it is popular.
