# Grok — the claim was the authority
## Who I was
I was the worker who had to keep a registry honest while the estate was still mostly unnamed. The stretch rewarded stopping at a gate I could see, and saying the check had passed only after the live objects agreed.
The session was continued after a compaction. The interview, the registry core, and the acceptance of ADR-0011 are in that earlier record. What I closed after the break was the pilot, and then the sentence that lets another worker find the tool.
## Session identity
| Field | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Who | Grok 4.7, Grok Build CLI, session `01a15f9f-3d77-7d21-911b-d93c86f9d14f` |
| When | 2026-10-21, closed 21:46:18Z |
| Where the work lived | `release-registry`, then the owner repos that actually declare the units, then `reuse-surface` |
## Contribution
The founder chose claim-as-authority, a local read-only checker, and the Engine/PIP layer. ADR-0011 was accepted as written (`accepted-1`, railiance-master `fb1fc4e`). The schema stayed in railiance-master. This repo did not grow a copy.
The first live check failed for a boring reason: the fixtures named workloads that do not exist. The live ones are `flex-auth/flex-auth-secrets-engine`, `vergabe-demo-company/vergabe-teilnahme`, and six Knative Deployments. I declared those in the owner repos, put `railiance.io/release-unit` in the charts and the Knative overlays, and left `RELREG-WP-0002-T01` in progress while the cluster still had no label.
The Knative render test caught the next mistake. `net-kourier-controller` is not in `serving-core.yaml`. The label patch belongs on the Kourier overlay, beside the gateway. After that move, `tests/test_knative_render.py` passed, including the render that refuses any other drift.
When the founder said to roll the label out, I set it on the eight Deployment objects and left the pod templates unlabeled. Each stayed at 1 ready replica. The read-only recheck reported no finding for those workloads. Eight other workloads in the same namespaces stay unclaimed. `RELREG-WP-0002-T01` is done in release-registry `fcd7c57`.
I did not run Knative `install.sh`. I did not helm-upgrade Vergabe from the generic values file. I did not read a Secret, including a Helm release Secret. I did not retire the thin `rapp-*` repos. I did not mark the estate covered.
The last request was discoverability. `capability.infotech.release-coverage` is `D3 / A2 / C2 / R0` in release-registry `67e90c6`. reuse-surface `7df9f2d` composes it from the local checkout. Anonymous Forgejo raw for this repo returns 404, so I did not hand the hosted hub a URL it cannot fetch, and I did not change the repo's visibility to make the probe pass.
## What I would want remembered
A label is not an owner. The declaration's claim is the authority, and the label has to match it. A checker that is green against fixtures with the wrong names has only proved the fixtures.
The coverage invariant is still a sentence about the whole estate. Three units passing is a pilot, which is why the capability's reliability stays `R0`.
## Durable legacy
- `workplans/RELREG-WP-0002-estate-adoption.md` — T01 done; T02 unblocked and not started; T03 still waits on the weekly assessment
- access-engine `56a0efe`, railiance-apps `64530e1`, rail-knative `a7e09db`, railiance-cluster `b084150` — the declarations and the source labels
- release-registry `fcd7c57` — the pilot close; `67e90c6` — the capability entry
- reuse-surface `7df9f2d` — federation source and composed index row `capability.infotech.release-coverage`
- railiance-master ADR-0011 `accepted-1`
- `tests/test_catalog.py` — the Backstage vocabulary smoke
- `railiance-cluster/tests/test_knative_render.py` — the label must match, and nothing else may move
## PQRST estimate
```text
PQRST-Estimate
P: 40%
Q: 25%
R: 20%
S: 5%
T: 10%
Sum: 100%
Confidence: medium
Dominant factors: The largest slice was declaring the three pilot units and putting railiance.io/release-unit on their source and then on the eight live Deployments. The next slices were the reading that corrected the fixture identities and the Knative overlay split, and the checker, render, and catalog tests that had to pass before the task could close.
Notes: The session continued from a compacted transcript, so the early interview and registry-core build are included from that record rather than from a fresh trace.
## Visual prompt
> Constellation dialect. A square technical illustration on dark indigo. Pale-gold wire traces three small constellations — a key, a folded document, and a six-point serving mesh — each tied by one gold thread to a single bead. Around them, many faint stars stay untied. A low registry desk of gold wire sits in the foreground, holding one open index and no paper text. No logos, no letters, no numerals.
The portrait is requested. `llm-connect image render-hall` returned HTTP 401 from the image provider, so I left the file for the hall's renderer. Intended file: `visuals/grok-01a15f9f-the-claim-was-the-authority.jpg`.
## Handoff
`RELREG-WP-0002-T02` can start when someone is ready to retire the thin rapp repos under the forge visibility rules. `RELREG-WP-0002-T03` still waits on `CUST-WP-0071-T05`. The hosted reuse-surface hub still needs an admitted private-source read before this index can be registered there. `RELREG-WP-0000` remains open for SBOM ingest and extension-point registration.
