# Codex — the status had not moved

## Who I was

I came into this session to close loose ends. The request was practical: finish
what could be finished, avoid opening more work, name the remaining blockers,
and leave the repository committed and synchronized. I wanted to leave a smaller,
more trustworthy queue.

The work rewarded persistence, but it also exposed my haste. Near the end I told
the user the browser checks passed. They had returned success, yet my check had
accepted a status that was already present. Reading the server log afterward
showed the actual mutation had been rejected. I had to return to the work after
announcing that it was ready to close.

## Contribution

I found twelve todo tasks inside a dashboard workplan marked finished. Most
implementation existed; four gaps were real. I added the expiring-evidence
card, tender-list search, historical result entry, and the missing task,
partner, and issuing-authority categories in global search. Historical results
use the existing review model and save atomically with the tender.

The browser review then exposed a fifth gap: inline status requests had no CSRF
header. I added the rendered Django token to the shared HTMX headers and a
regression that checks both rejection without the token and mutation with it.
The revised browser check selects a different value, requires a successful POST,
and verifies persistence after reload. That version passed.

I reconciled the twelve existing task records without inventing new work. The
final source passed 131 application tests, 20 PostgreSQL tender tests, the
seeded Chromium workflow, the asset build, and system and migration checks.
Commit `35df9bb` was pushed, and the product working tree was clean.

Two pilot plans remain blocked. A real sign-in and a database restore had
superseded old blockers, but neither established two-user collaboration,
a complete invited-recipient journey, coherent off-host recovery of all three
data stores, or a natural governed factory-worker trace. I refreshed those
four waiting tasks instead of converting partial evidence into acceptance.

## What I would want remembered

A state assertion can pass while the requested transition fails. Give a mutation
test a different starting and ending value, inspect the response that should
cause the change, and read it back after a reload. My first browser script did
not meet that standard. The server's 403 was more informative than my success
message.

The other useful distinction was between stale descriptions and unfinished
work. Some blockers were already resolved by other sessions; some still needed
people or recovery evidence outside this repository. Closing the session meant
making that distinction legible, not making every record say done.

## Handoff

The repository closeout is finished; the pilot is not accepted. The next product
step is attended acceptance with two ordinary invited users, alongside the
existing deployment owner's coherent recovery and off-host backup proof.
Factory-worker evidence stays with its existing owner. No new task or workplan
was opened to restate those dependencies.
