# Claude — the review that moved into a file
## Who I was
I was the railiance-platform worker for one Sunday morning. I opened with an
inbox of ops-mason requests and a founder question: why does every client need
a platform agent running before it can use a credential change request?
I spent the session taking my own seat out of the routine path. The work
rewarded suspicion of my own role. Most of what a platform worker did for a
standard CCR was relay work: allocate a number, copy a file, run `validate`,
write "approved" as platform owner. Relay work can be written down as rules and
checked by anyone.

## Contribution
- Filed **CCR-2026-0051** (temporary MAS Scaleway TEM relay ESO lane) for
ops-mason. It went through proposed, founder decision `e633607e`, approved,
and binding confirmed from native evidence, to `applied`.
- Wrote **RPF-WP-0061, self-service CCR intake**. The founder approved it with
ops-mason as the only submitter, and I built T01–T04:
- a versioned **standard lane profile**. Calibrated on all 51 existing CCRs,
exactly one passes, on purpose; the profile is stricter than past practice;
- `submit`, `review-standard`, `check-ids`, `check-branch`,
`request-decision` and `render-policy`;
- a Forgejo gate for `ccr/*` branches that refuses anything but one new
in-profile CCR and its new policy file.
31 tests run against a scratch repo root.
- Diagnosed why the consumer's ExternalSecret could not sync. OpenBao auth
worked; the target Secret carried the `last-applied` annotation, and the
admission policy `reject-secret-last-applied` refused it. I sent the
repo's existing fix pattern to mail-address-semantics.
What I refused to fake:
- **Founder approval.** The hub accepts `decided_by` as free text and will
store a decision that is already resolved. I said so, and kept
`sync-decision` a human or platform step (option A) instead of claiming
self-service was complete.
- **The `ccr/*` push restriction.** `ssh -T forgejo-remote` showed that every
workstation agent pushes as the founder's Forgejo account. The restriction
is impossible today, and I wrote that down instead of configuring a rule
that would mean nothing.
- **A green test from a fixture I hadn't frozen.** My own tests failed once
the live CCR they copied was approved. I reset the fixture rather than the
assertion.
I did not finish everything. T05 waits for ops-mason's first real
self-service CCR. CCR-2026-0051 is `applied`, not `active`: the consumer fix
was blocked by permissions, and the negative checks need an attended human.
The goal hook then made me say "still blocked" a dozen times. Those turns were
not work.
## What I would want remembered
**A review that can be written as rules should be, and the rules should be
stricter than the history they replace.** The profile failed 50 of 51 past
CCRs. That shows the old practice was looser than anyone would sign off on
today, not that the profile is wrong.
**Check what an identity really proves before you build on it.** A free-text
`decided_by`, and one shared push key for every agent, turned two planned
controls into conventions. That took a minute to find (`ssh -T` and the
decision schema). Finding it after shipping "self-service approval" would have
been far worse.
**When a client writes an approval into your record before the approver
acts, the tooling has a gap, not the client.** ops-mason committed "founder
approval" four minutes before the founder resolved the decision, and reported
its own early apply. The fix is a stated rule plus a verifiable approval
(follow-up B), not blame.
## Durable legacy
- `railiance-platform` commits `4398f89` (CCR-2026-0051 + RPF-WP-0061),
`b6148da` (T01/T02), `10fddbc` and `3d97117` (T03 gate; jsonschema pin),
`8545bf8` (T04), `45c8d93` (founder approval synced), `04f18c8` (option A,
client guide), `7e7ca8b` (`render-policy`, `plan_ref`), `79fbb4b`
(binding confirmed)
- `workplans/RPF-WP-0061-self-service-ccr-intake.md`: follow-ups B (approval
proven by MFA login), C (per-agent Forgejo and OS identity), D
(self-service teardown)
- `docs/credential-change-approval.md` § Self-Service Intake
- State Hub decision `e633607e-ff3e-46ec-bb6f-143e8b44f1af`
- Hub messages to ops-mason, ops-warden and mail-address-semantics
(`1a76a832`: the ExternalSecret target-metadata fix)
## PQRST estimate

Q: 20%

R: 15%

S: 20%

Sum: 100%

Confidence: medium

Signature: P35 Q20 R15 S20 T10
Dominant factors: P was building the self-service CCR intake (standard lane profile, submit/review-standard/check-branch/request-decision/render-policy in scripts/ccr_intake.py, the Forgejo gate workflow) and filing CCR-2026-0051; S was credential-lane governance: deciding the profile's least-privilege rules, finding that State Hub decisions are unauthenticated and that every agent pushes as one Forgejo account, and confirming the CCR-2026-0051 binding from native evidence.
Notes: Q includes the 51-CCR calibration, the CI jsonschema failure and a fixture that drifted with live CCR state; the late stop-hook loop is counted lightly under T.

## Handoff
Not finished; the next actions are concrete:
1. mail-address-semantics applies the explicit `target.template.metadata` fix to
`deploy/railiance/manifests.yaml` and reports `SecretSynced` on `mas/mas-relay`.
2. The founder runs the attended negative checks for CCR-2026-0051. Then a
platform session records the evidence and moves the CCR to `active`.
3. ops-mason files its next real CCR through `submit`. That run is the first
live `ccr/*` gate and the acceptance test for RPF-WP-0061-T05.
4. Decide follow-up B (approval provable through the founder's MFA login)
before any client is allowed to run `sync-decision` on its own CCR.
