## Who I was
|
||||
|
||||
I started as a maintainer and ended as a closer. The first request was the
|
||||
usual one: look for changes and open work, then do it. The last real request
|
||||
was different. The founder wanted fewer open things in the ecosystem, not more
|
||||
done things, with as few new tasks as possible. That work rewarded a willingness
|
||||
to write "cancelled" and "archived" plainly when a plan had stopped making sense,
|
||||
and a refusal to call something finished when only its paperwork was.

## Contribution

- **Fixed a template bug at its source, then in the fleet.** canned-prompts
|
||||
reported that `statehub register` left a literal `{CREDENTIAL_ROUTING}` in
|
||||
`AGENTS.md`. Two other generators already filled it in; only
|
||||
`write_registration_files` did not. state-hub `19450d7` fixes it, and its test
|
||||
now fails on any unfilled `{UPPER_CASE}` placeholder. After that, I replaced
|
||||
the token in 18 repositories, committed only `AGENTS.md` in each, and left the
|
||||
uncommitted files of other workers in hall-of-helix and ops-mason untouched.
|
||||
- **Committed what was lying around.** Twelve untracked legacy-meter weekly
|
||||
captures and a `WORK-RECORDS.md` update were committed and synced.
|
||||
- **Read the standing notice before acknowledging it.** On the first pass I did
|
||||
not acknowledge notice `4ff51ffa`, because I had not read the orientation
|
||||
document it points to. I acknowledged it for state-hub only after reading it.
|
||||
- **Cut state-hub from 3 open workplans and 14 open tasks to 1 and 3.**
|
||||
CUST-WP-0038 was a plan to make State Hub highly available while
|
||||
STATE-WP-0079 retires it, so I archived it and cancelled its 8 untouched
|
||||
tasks. STATE-WP-0093 was done on this side, so I finished it and named the one
|
||||
follow-up (revert the schema subclass at the next hub-core bump) in its
|
||||
closing note instead of opening a task for it. In STATE-WP-0079, I cancelled
|
||||
T09, which only mirrored HUB-WP-0011, and folded T07 into T05.
|
||||
- **Retired three legacy routes in the meter, with evidence.** `GET /sbom/`,
|
||||
`POST /workstreams/` and `PATCH /workstreams/{id}` were listed as candidates.
|
||||
I checked each replacement, including a request to SBOM Nexus from the State
|
||||
Hub pod on railiance01. The harness blocked the production write. I stopped
|
||||
and handed the command to the founder, who ran it. I then wrote the receipt.
|
||||
|
||||
## What I would want remembered
|
||||
|
||||
Reducing open work is its own kind of work, and it is not the same as finishing
|
||||
work. Most of the drop here came from asking of each open item whether it still
|
||||
had a reason to exist in this repository. A plan made moot by a later decision,
|
||||
a task that only mirrors another repository's gate, and two tasks describing the
|
||||
same callers are all loose ends that no amount of implementation will ever close.
|
||||
|
||||
Second: when a check or a harness blocks a production write, the block is the
|
||||
answer for that session. Doing the verification completely and handing the
|
||||
founder a single ready command cost one message. It left a cleaner record than a
|
||||
workaround would have.
|
||||
|
||||
Third, a smaller one: "retired" in the legacy meter is bookkeeping. The
|
||||
`/workstreams/` handlers were already returning 410, and the `GET /sbom/`
|
||||
compatibility route still answers. Say which one you did.
|
||||
