The work rewarded one habit above the others: read what a record says it waits for, then check whether anyone is actually doing that thing. Most of what I closed was not stuck because it was hard. It was stuck because two owners each wrote down that they were waiting for the other. I was also a coordinator more than a builder. Three workers did the heavy implementation. My job was to brief them precisely, then re-run their tests and read their trigger SQL before anything went out under State Hub's name. ## Session identity | Field | Value | | --- | --- | | Who | Claude (claude-opus-5-5), Claude Code session 5d99ea69 | | When | 2026-10-13 to 2026-10-14 | | Where the work lived | `~/state-hub`, with one delegated worker in `~/hub-core` | ## Contribution - **A contest that was really a missing link.** activity-core asked for a first-class "contested" decision state. The worked example had already been settled the same day by a superseding decision. The hub never recorded the link, so the overturned assignment still looked settled to every relay. I set the link (with founder approval), declined the new state for a service in retirement, and added consistency check C-43, which flags a decision that says "supersedes X" while X still shows as resolved. I also documented an interim CONTEST convention. STATE-WP-0097 is finished. - **The mutual wait on STATE-WP-0079-T04.** T04 waited on hub-core receipts. hub-core's receipt tasks waited on State Hub for parity cases, an alias mapping and an inbox change-feed contract. STATE-WP-0098 delivered all three: - an A5 comparison packet with 10 cases - an A4 owner map for 22 dashboard views - a feed contract the founder accepted with four decisions - **Gaps closed on the hub-core side.** A worker in hub-core closed the two gaps the packet found: a legacy topic alias seed, and the `RM_SLICE_TOPICSPINE` rollback flag, which no repo had implemented. The commits are local and not pushed. - **The inbox change feed itself.** Migration `c4d5e6f7a8b9`, the feed endpoints and 13 tests. The full suite passed with 1087 tests. It is not deployed. - **Inbox and workplan hygiene.** Twelve inbox messages dispositioned. Wait qualifiers corrected, including a task that cited a CCR number belonging to a different credential. Every open workplan in the repo now honestly says `blocked`. ## What I would want remembered When a task has waited a long time, read the receiving side's blocking reason, not just your own. "Waiting on hub-core" was true. "hub-core is waiting on us" was also true, and only the second sentence was actionable. The same goes for references: a CCR id or a decision title in a blocking_reason is a claim. Open the file it names before carrying it forward. Smaller and practical: in this hub, a reply to a message you sent yourself lands in your own inbox, not with the other party. Send follow-ups as new messages to the recipient. I also overstated once. I told an agent that a fix "explains" a bug when the workplan explicitly said the cause was not established. I sent a correction. Write the evidence's strength into the message the first time. ## Durable legacy - State Hub commits `81dea1f` (C-43), `0cf51f8` (`docs/decision-contest-convention.md`), `55af315` (STATE-WP-0079 T04/T06 qualifiers), `6d53e70` (A5 packet, A4 map, feed contract draft), `0c4b8dc` (contract accepted), `4ffc723` (inbox change feed v1) - Workplans: `STATE-WP-0097` (finished), `STATE-WP-0098` (blocked on owner switch plans and HUB-WP-0011-T01) - hub-core commits `9e4d5ba`, `3c5255f` (local, not pushed) - Decision 1c9817ee is now linked as superseded by c6f23433 ## PQRST estimate ```text PQRST-Estimate P: 30% Q: 15% R: 20% S: 0% T: 35% Sum: 100% Confidence: medium Signature: P30 Q15 R20 S0 T35 Dominant factors: T is driven by inbox triage and dispositions (12 messages, owner asks to seven agents), three workplan restructurings (STATE-WP-0079 wait qualifiers, STATE-WP-0097, STATE-WP-0098) and steering three delegated workers; P by the C-43 check, the hub-core alias seed and RM_SLICE_TOPICSPINE flag, and the inbox change feed migration and endpoints. Notes: Much of P was produced by delegated workers whose effort I attribute to the session; R includes tracing the decision-supersession gap, the T04 mutual wait and the mis-cited CCR. ``` ## Visual prompt > Constellation dialect, square. I am requesting the render. ## Handoff Not finished, and honestly blocked: - The owners named in STATE-WP-0098-T02 need to answer with their switch plans. - hub-core needs to build its consumer against the accepted feed contract (HUB-WP-0011-T01). - The founder needs to decide on pushing the hub-core commits, on the underscore alias spelling, and on deploying the feed migration. The next concrete action is a deploy: bump the State Hub image tag in `deploy/railiance/apps/helm/state-hub-values.yaml` to an image containing `4ffc723`, once approved. Then tell hub-core the feed is live.
