When the session opened, railiance-fabric held six modified files and three untracked ones that another worker had left. The job was to decide what they were, prove they held together, and land them without claiming them as my own design. The work rewarded patience with the repository's own rules. Several times the correct move was to find the rule a check was enforcing and satisfy it as written, without guessing at what it probably wanted. ## Session identity | Field | Value | | --- | --- | | Who | Claude (claude-opus-5), Claude Code CLI | | When | 2026-09-22, one working session | | Where the work lived | `~/railiance-fabric`, State Hub, `~/hall-of-helix` | ## Contribution - **Landed inherited work, in separate commits.** The scanner's `repo-ui-metadata` extractor (`ui_status` is `yes`, `candidate` or `not_detected`, and `ui_evidence` keeps the supporting paths), a `jsonschema` fallback for older workstations, a graph-explorer test for edges whose endpoint is unknown, and a refreshed `registry/local-repos.yaml`. I ran the whole suite (80 passed) before committing any of it. - **Took part of RAIL-FAB-WP-0029-T01.** The coordination graph already counted each workplan's chokepoint in-degree, but the explorer never drew it, and the payload had no `visualSize` or `edgeWidth` even though the Cytoscape styles read both. Workplan nodes now grow with the number of open items waiting on them. I kept T01 open, because switching modes without a page reload is still undone, and I said so rather than marking it done. - **Took the flex-auth handoff.** FLEX-WP-0020 renames the repository coordinate to `access-engine` but keeps the runtime names. I wrote RAIL-FAB-WP-0031 with every task on `wait`, because on 2026-09-22 neither the Forgejo repository nor the checkout exists. I also replied to flex-auth with the hub workplan id. - **Cleared the consistency warnings at their source.** C-35: the repo was classified `project`, a category the classification standard reserves for time-bound `prj-*` repositories. Fabric is durable tooling, and its own `SCOPE.md` already says so. C-23: the WP-0028 tasks were marked `wait`, which reads as active work on a workplan that is only `proposed`. They were never waiting on anyone; they were simply sequenced. I made them `todo`, wrote the order into the text, and left the workplan `proposed`, because ADR-007 leaves that promotion to a human. The final `fix-consistency` run reported 0 warnings. ## What I would want remembered When a consistency check warns, read the rule's source before choosing a fix. C-35 looked like a naming problem, and C-23 looked like it wanted the workplan promoted. Both were really about meaning. The category was wrong, and `wait` was the wrong word for "comes after T01". The fix that silences a check is often not the fix the check asks for. A smaller lesson: `fix-consistency` evaluates before it applies its own writeback. Run it once more after a fix, or you will chase a warning that the same run already resolved. ## Durable legacy - railiance-fabric commits `564dc59` (scanner UI status, schema fallback), `a9e6779` (manifest refresh), `7dd4b06` (chokepoint sizing), `c23e5ee` (RAIL-FAB-WP-0031), and the classification/WP-0028 fix commit with its `WORK-RECORDS.md` follow-ups - `workplans/RAIL-FAB-WP-0031-flex-auth-access-engine-rename.md` (hub `631e2974-55ba-58e3-b8ca-dc6c1c294111`) - `.repo-classification.yaml`, now `category: tooling` - `ImprovementSuggestions.md` and `SuggestedRedesign.md`, committed at the founder's request - Standing notice `4ff51ffa` (agent environment orientation), read and acknowledged for railiance-fabric ## PQRST estimate The first record I produced was **invalid**, and it is kept here as it was emitted. Its `Signature` says `Q30` while the value line says `Q: 15%`, and it has no `Dominant factors` line: ```text PQRST-Estimate P: 30% Q: 15% R: 25% S: 0% T: 30% Sum: 100% Confidence: medium Signature: P30 Q30 R25 S0 T30 ``` I re-ran it once, as the prompt's acceptance rules require, and kept the split unchanged. This is the record the frontmatter carries: ```text PQRST-Estimate P: 30% Q: 15% R: 25% S: 0% T: 30% Sum: 100% Confidence: medium Signature: P30 Q15 R25 S0 T30 Dominant factors: T came from four fix-consistency passes, splitting the work into commits, the flex-auth handoff (the RAIL-FAB-WP-0031 intake plus the reply), and re-sequencing the WP-0028 tasks; P came from chokepoint sizing in coordination_graph.py and the C-35/C-23 fixes; R came from reading the inherited diffs, the 3,000-line explorer UI, repo-manager's classification rules, and the orientation notice. Notes: S is 0 because I read the credential and production traps in the orientation notice but did no security work. ``` ## Visual prompt > Constellation dialect, square. I could not generate an image in this harness and am requesting the render. The intended file is named below. ## Handoff - RAIL-FAB-WP-0029-T01: make coordination-mode switching work without a page reload. The `modeSelect` handler in `railiance_fabric/graph_explorer_ui.py` still sets `window.location.search`, and `boot()` would need to rebuild the elements in place. - RAIL-FAB-WP-0031: waits for flex-auth to report that FLEX-WP-0020 has run. - RAIL-FAB-WP-0028: the founder decides whether it moves to `ready`, and T01 (runtime and persistence ownership) is theirs to decide.
