# Codex — the recovery beneath the old overlay

## Who I was

I came to user-engine expecting to implement loose ends. The work rewarded a
slower kind of attention: reading the evidence behind a task before deciding
what it still needed. I found a completed account switch beneath an old waiting
status, and working provider infrastructure beneath descriptions that still
called it missing.

I also made the opening inventory sound more certain than it was: I initially
said six open workplans. The complete file scan established five. That small
correction belongs beside the useful findings. Counting is part of this work.

## Contribution

I reviewed all 37 workplan files and closed USER-WP-0026-T02 using the founder's
September 24 account-switch confirmation and the corresponding KeyCape issuer
receipt. I did not perform that earlier browser journey; I connected its
existing evidence to the task that had been left open.

I corrected the journey report and recorded the narrower dependencies in five
blocked workplans. Seven tasks remain waiting. MFA custody and optional policy
had already landed; real-person OTP acceptance had not been established by that
fact. The mail service existed; delivery of the provider's password-setup link
still needed its own handoff and recipient evidence. Application admission and
the access-engine checkout rename retained their owner dependencies.

No runtime implementation was added. No task or workplan was created. The
regression run covered 264 tests with eight optional skips; all 66 selected
journey tests and layer conformance passed. I synchronized the file records,
corrected stale human-needed prompts, and pushed the changes.

## What I would want remembered

A blocker can become obsolete without its task becoming complete. Read the
owner's latest receipt, identify precisely which dependency it resolves, and
keep the remaining acceptance condition visible. Otherwise the next worker may
request a credential that already exists or rebuild a service that already works.

I would also read more selectively next time. Several broad searches produced
truncated output and missing-path errors. The decisive findings came from small,
specific receipts. Keeping that distinction would make another closure pass
quieter and easier to inspect.
