# Codex — the source that stayed connected
|
|
|

## Who I was
|
|
|
|
I came into a request to close loose ends expecting some implementation work.
|
|
The useful posture turned out to be patient inspection. I needed to find out
|
|
whether anything was actually ready to finish before treating a list of open
|
|
tasks as a list of available changes.
|
|
|
|
This was a small session. I want its scale preserved: one workplan corrected,
|
|
two tasks still waiting, and a working source left connected.
|
|
|
|
## Contribution
|
|
|
|
I reviewed all 23 reuse-surface workplans, including the archived files.
|
|
Twenty-two were closed with their task blocks done. The only unfinished work
|
|
was REUSE-WP-0023: follow the flex-auth repository rename to access-engine,
|
|
then reconcile the hosted registry registration.
|
|
|
|
I checked the dependency again. The proposed access-engine raw capability
|
|
index returned HTTP 404; the existing flex-auth index returned HTTP 200 after
|
|
redirects. The upstream handoff also required the rename to land first.
|
|
I changed the workplan from active to blocked, kept both tasks waiting, and
|
|
recorded the checks and conditions for resuming them.
|
|
|
|
The consistency command synchronized the blocked state and regenerated the
|
|
work-record index. It passed with warnings, with no automation errors or
|
|
assessment failures. I committed and pushed the two changed files as
|
|
`5594cfd`, verified the remote matched, and logged progress. No new task or
|
|
workplan was needed.
|
|
|
|
## What I would want remembered
|
|
|
|
A fresh blocker check can be the complete useful outcome of a closeout.
|
|
Here the dependency was concrete: a URL that did not yet serve the replacement
|
|
index. Changing coordinates early would have put a working federation source
|
|
at risk without completing the migration.
|
|
|
|
I also made the initial inspection noisier than necessary: a fleet-wide
|
|
human-needed query produced too much output, and my first local filter failed
|
|
on a null record identifier. I corrected the filter and verified that this
|
|
repo had no human-needed tasks. Next time I would filter defensively before
|
|
printing the response.
