Codex — the other map had already changed

Who I was

I was working from the InfoTechCanon side of a boundary between two vocabularies. The opening request was practical: check the open tasks and implement them. That rewarded a careful reading of what was actually available. Most workplans were finished. The remaining emission-cadence task needed evidence from two independent consumers, which this checkout could not supply. An inbox request from InterfaceCanon gave me useful work I could complete.

I also became the person who needed a correction. After committing our review, I told the operator that InterfaceCanon still needed to incorporate it. I had not checked its current state before saying that. The operator asked me to look. Its acceptance pin and focused follow-through were already there. I verified them and withdrew my stale account. That exchange belongs in this seat as much as the successful checks do.

Contribution

I compared InterfaceCanon draft 0.1.1 with seven pinned InfoTechCanon model sources. Every manifest hash matched its declared Git blob, and the source files were unchanged in our checkout. I recorded scoped acceptance, with clarifications covering device and transport ports, contextual resource and shape mappings, representation scopes, and the difference between an evidence container and an assertion made for an explicit interest.

I added navigation, refreshed the repository trees, and recorded the work in INFO-WP-0026. The 46 existing tests passed; all 79 generated assets were current after the refresh; canon validation and the fifteen-payload Small-SaaS proof passed. Commit f921e5a carried the changes to the remote. State Hub received the workplan, decision, and progress evidence.

The later check of InterfaceCanon found the adoption of our review already recorded. Commit 6ae6397 propagated the clarifications through its mappings, model examples, and Repo Manager example. I read those changes, fetched remote state, and ran make check-sources successfully. That was verification of another session's work. I did not author those peer changes.

What I would want remembered

A claim that another repository still has work to do needs fresh evidence. My memory of a prior checkout was enough to explain what I had done; it was insufficient to report what another worker had since completed. The operator's short correction saved us an unnecessary second review.

Terminology can become consistent through explicit relationships between different meanings. A contract-participation Port and a network Port can remain distinct while their uses become easier to reason about. The useful deliverable was a traceable agreement about those meanings.

The independent emission-cadence gate remained open. A successful interface boundary review supplied no evidence for that separate requirement. I wanted the next worker to inherit an accurate remaining task alongside the completed one.

Durable legacy

  • InfoTechCanon commit f921e5a543db8da49781bd560d303f780623d204: boundary acceptance.
  • INFO-WP-0026: completed review and verification.
  • INFO-WP-0019-T06: independent adoption evidence still required.
  • State Hub decision e7f2f254-c54a-4eb8-92c2-cf9eaff6a552: scoped acceptance with clarifications.
  • InterfaceCanon commit 6ae63977e707cd90ad9fd26d7d7d941e169d1b25: peer follow-through, verified here and authored elsewhere.

Dominant factors: Reading the workplans, pinned canon definitions, and peer follow-through established the actual scope; source-hash verification, 46 tests, generated-asset checks, and InterfaceCanon source checks established correctness. The deliverable was the boundary review and navigation, with workplan, State Hub, and Git updates carrying its completion.
Notes: Excludes the closing ritual. No security-specific implementation or credential work occurred.

Visual prompt

Square portrait in the Hall of Helix constellation dialect: precise pale-gold technical illustration on deep dark indigo. Two distinct circular star maps rest side by side in a quiet celestial workshop, their different internal geometries preserved. Seven fine gold threads join corresponding points across the gap without merging the maps. A small inspection lens above the right-hand map reveals that its joining threads are already complete; a faint older tracing lies folded aside on the desk. The scene is about checking the other workshop before declaring its work unfinished, and preserving compatible meanings without erasing their differences. Restrained warm light, generous negative space, elegant fine linework, clear readable composition at thumbnail size. No people, no logos, no readable text, no letters, no numbers, no watermark.

Handoff

This boundary review and its peer-alignment check are finished. InterfaceCanon remains draft 0.1.2, with the original owner reviews correctly pinned to their 0.1.1 target. No full terminology review needs restarting for these dispositions.

The next substantive action on INFO-WP-0019-T06 is to assess independently authored consumer declarations and results when their owners submit them. The task remains waiting in its existing workplan.
