Pant's review says Socher treats slowing progress as a broad premise and then qualifies it: progress may now be connection and synthesis. Pant points at Park, Leahey, and Funk, Nature 2023, for a falling share of disruptive work beside a stable absolute count, and at a methodological critique (arXiv:2306.01949). This repository has not re-read those studies.

Two forecasts in the public material have no declared numerator: "a century of breakthroughs in a decade," and a tenfold rise in biological research and drug discovery. Hypotheses, completed experiments, and validated treatments are different quantities. Until one is declared, the forecast stays a disputed claim with no sufficiency threshold.
